The anonymous author of this book is one of the People of Bayan who has written to refute the claims made by Mirza Husayn Ali Nuri (MHA) known as Baha. It appears that the book was written not long after the Edirne period and by someone who has had close association with other leading Bayani figures such as Qahir. Towards the end of the book the author talks about being at the presence of Qahir who was murdered by Baha's men.
During that period many Bayani figures who wrote to refute Baha's claim were assassinated by Baha's men ans hence many others such as the author of this book wrote anonymously. According to the author the book was first written in Arabic and then rewritten in Persian. Both books have the same title.
It is noteworthy that the arguments against MHA are based on Bayanic provisions which describe the circumstances in which the Promissed One of Bayan will be manifested. The author argues that for MHA's claim to be true, these provisions would seem not necessary, void or false in which case would boomerang on the foundation of the claim itself.
Another important note is that the scope of these arguments is limited to the practical provisions of Bayan and not so much the Bayanic theological principals with which MHA's claim is also in full contradiction
.
The following is a brief summary of the topic discussed in the book:
-
The appointment of Subh-i Azal to the station of Mirrorship of the Primal Point and One who ranked equal with him and One who reveal divine verses occurred in direct preference to Mirza Husayn Ali who was present and much older than Subh-i Azal and was instructed by the Primal Point to provide for and protect Subh-i Azal.
- Unity 2 chapter7 is referenced: "Today the Bayan is at its embryonic stage....Resurrection will not occur until the perfection has been reached" As an infant takes time to mature, the religion of Bayan will also take time to reach its perfection.
- Unity 2 chapter 8 is referenced: "The meaning of the Transient (world) is the (difference) between two manifestations." What happened to the world of Transient that is to occur between two manifestations? The author asks.
- Unity 2 chapter 17 is referenced: The Promised One of Bayan will be manifested at Ghiyath (i.e. year 1511 of Bayanic calendar) or until Mustaghath (i.e. year 2001 of Bayanic calendar)
- Unity 2 chapter 17 is referenced: Prophecy is made concerning People of Bayan owning magnificent copied of Bayan and presenting them to He-Whom-God-Shall-Make-Manifest. At the time the claimant made such claim People of Bayan had hardly access to Bayan and anyone who had a copy concealed it.
- Unity 4 Chapter 11 is referenced: "Whoever transgresses from the bound of Bayan is not be a believer, be a scientist, a king or its subject. MHA deviated from Bayan, and the Mirror of the Point.
- Unity 5 Chapter 13 is referenced: It is incumbent upon all people of Bayan to write their will and command that it reaches He-Whom-God-Shall-Make-Manifest. At the time Bayan was revealed, MHA was present. It would be meaningless for a will to contain such clause. Similar provisions in 8:9, and 9:2.
- Unity 5 Chapter 15 is referenced: The semen (embryo) is considered clean for the sake of HWGSMM. MHA was a grown up man when he made his claim. At the time MHA was in embryonic stage, he was subject to Islamic provisions. What would be the purpose of this provision if MHA's claim were to be true? The author asks. MHA in his Isharaqat has reacted angrily to this argument, considered it an insult and that he did not need the provision for his embryo to be clean!
- Unity 6 Chapter 8 is referenced: Whoever reasons on but Book of God and verses of Bayan will, (his) reasons will not be counted.
- Unity 6 Chapter 9 is referenced: Revealing verses: The claimant had acquired his skills by practice. MHA had studied hard and was a follower of the Souphism. MHA practiced writing verses and washed them in the sea. According to MHA himself his alleged verses were fed to the fish in the see when they were washed out. The alleged verses were his practice notes. MHA's writings have no resemblance to the divine verse. Anyone can write Arabic text. Divine verses are not acquired by learning. MHA's writings are contradictory to the Bayanic teachings. MHA's (Khalooieh and later renamed) Iqan was written in presence of Subh-i Azal.
- Unity 6 Chapter 12 is referenced: Punishment of pupils by striking them is not allowed. The provision is in respect to HWGSMM. MHA was well out of school and a grown up man when he made his claim.
- Unity 7 Chapter 1 is referenced: Renewal of books every 202 years. What would be the purpose of this provision if MHA's claim were to be true? The author asks.
- Unity 7 Chapter 9 is referenced: Every head of a Bayani state is required to build a house with 95 doors. This point to a time in future which has not been realised yet. Similar provision is made in 9:3.
- Unity 7 Chapter 10 is referenced: Do not sadden the throne (body) of the Name of Mustaghath (in reference to HWGSMM) from his infancy. Only God know the difference between this manifestation and Mustaghath but it is hopped that it will not be later than Mustaghath. Same as before, this provision would be void if MHA's claim were to be true.
- MHA's claim to be the return of Imam Husayn is void. The return of the Imam Husayn is in the realm of the Qaiem (i.e. the Promised One of Islam being the Primal Point) and has nothing to do with HWGSMM.
- Reference made to MHA's letter written in handwriting of Mirza Hadi Qazwini with notes in MHA's handwriting on the side stating his total non-being in respect to Subh-i Azal. Also see Baha's Will during Baqdad period.
- MHA's traces of his illness of shaky hand is manifest in his early writings. Please also see the cause of Baha's shaky hand.
- Eyewitness accounts that MHA would not be seated in the presence of Subh-i Azal until permission is given.
- Reference made to MHA's love of power being his motive for his claims.
- A very telling eyewitness account from a person who was at the scene when and where the well documented tablet from the Primal Point concerning the station of Subh-i Azal was read out in the presence of MHA and Subh-i Azal. At this meeting all remained silent when Subh-i Azal's attributes and station as the Fruit of Bayan was praised except for MHA who complained "Yahya does not deserve the station".
- Some Bahais suggest that what is meant by Mustaqath is another general manifestation after this one and not this mighty manifestation. This claim seems to be consistent with MHA's subsequent interpretation that the manifestation of HWGSMM is yet to occur at Mustaghath.
- Bahais seem to consider every reference to the name Baha a reference to the claimant. The title of 'Bahi al-abha' is in reference to the Point. This is made clear in the Book of Asma. 7:1:3:
و اشهد ان من قد نزل علیه البیان بهائه الابهی
I testify that he to whom Bayan was revealed is Baha, Abha.
- In order for MHA to be able to rehash the Bayanic provisions, he has claimed that he was going to change the Bayanic provisions but he saw the Primal Point begging him no to and hence he granted the request!
- MHA had expressed opposition to consumption of tobacco and eating of Onion even before he made his claim.
- MHA's order to assassinate whoever wrote against or opposed his claim.
Those people included:
-
Sayyid Ismail Zawareh whose throat was cut in Baqdad. A knife was put into his hand to pretend that he killed himself out of extreme love for MHA!
- Abulqasim of Kashan who reported MHA's underhand activities to Subh-i Azal and followed MHA's withdrawal to Suleymanieh;
- Aqa Mirza Muhammad Reza of Isfahan the uncle of the late HAji Sayyid Muhammad;
- Alim Muhammad of Isfahan;
- Qahir;
- Seraj;
- Mirza Ahmad of Kashan,
- Mirza Buzurg of Kermanshah;
- Hajji Sayyed Muhammad of Isfahan who with two others were killed by MHA's son and five others;
- Sayyid Ali Arab.
Amongst killers were Naser Arab, Muhammad Mustafa MHA's followers.
