This book is the transcript of a series of discussions between a Bayani and a group of Bahais. Mirza Mahdi Amin the author of the book was a young man who did not know about the religious background of his father being a Bayani. Having grown up with his Muslim friends considered himself a Muslim and knew nothing of the religion of Bayan.

One day his father asks him to sit with him for a father and son talk. The father tells him that the son was now mature enough to talk to about religious matters. He first asks his son about Islam and the Promised of Islam Mahdi and then gradually talks to him about the religion of Bayan being the fulfilment of what God had promised in Islamic dispensation. The son is shocked and is surprised that such matter was never communicated with him before.

Mirza Mahdi devotes his time and energy studying and researching the religion of Bayan and becomes a devoted Bayani on his own. During his study he also comes across the Bahai claim and cross validates it against the provisions for 'He Whom God Shall Make Manifest' in Bayan.

Mirza Mahdi decides to meet the Bahais and test their claims. He joins a Bahai mahfel as a Muslim who wants to learn about Bahaism. Bahais wishing to convert him welcome him to their gathering. As per Bahai custom, they quickly skip over the religion of Bayan and do not mention a word of the book of Bayan.

Mirza Mahdi pushes for the slow-down of the progress of the discussions and forces the Bahai audience to take a step back and extracts the word of Bayan from them. After this, he requests for a copy of the book to study and reasons that he should not be expected to skip the faith of Bayan before he becomes a Bahai and that he first must study the book of Bayan. The Bahai elders present at the meeting initially deny that they have the Book of Bayan and eventually they admit to have it and promise to bring it at the next meeting.

Meeting after meeting Bahais refuse to bring the book of Bayan under different pretexts. He eventually extracts a copy of Bayan from them. The discussion then takes a different direction and Mirza Mahdi produces various passages from Bayan and tells the Bahai audience that the Bahai claims are in flagrant violation of the Bayanic provisions.

At this time, the Bahai leader at the meeting suspects that Mirza Amin is an Azali (i.e. Bayani) and asserts that he should be thrown out of their meeting. The remaining members of the audience disagree and request their leaders to respond to the Bayani questions.

The Bahai leader failing to justify the Bahai claims becomes agitated and the meeting becomes tense. Towards the end, the audience (except for the Bahai leader) expresses appreciation to the Bayani for "opening their eyes and regret that they have been kept misinformed for such long time".

The book depicts the sentiments and behaviour of the members of the meeting in some details.
